Football & Education - Boys
Course information

- A full time programme of football and education for students aged 16-19.
- The scheme is part of the F.A Development plan and is fully endorsed by the FA.
- There are places available to candidates on 1, 2 or 3 year programmes.
- There will be access to both the BTEC First (level 2, Equivalent to 4 GCSE's) and the BTEC National Diploma (Level 3, Equivalent to 3 A Levels).
- Players will have the opportunity to progress through their:
- Level 1 and 2 football coaching awards
- Level 1 and 2 match officials
- FA treatment of injuries
- First aid certificate
- CSLA (Community sports leaders award)
- HSLA (Higher sports leaders award)
- NVQ in Coaching, Teaching & Instructing
- Players will have the opportunity to re-sit English and Maths GCSE (Required for University entry).
- The player's access structured training sessions every day from one of two qualified coaches.
- Overseas players will have the opportunity to study English language.
- Each player receives regular 1-1 coaching, squad mentoring on professionalism, mental strength, football fitness, diet and nutrition, match analysis and career development.
- The squad will represent the Oxford United Football Academy every Wednesday in the Youth Conference Football League, Football College League and County Cups.
- The course offers players links and scholarship opportunities with clubs in the USA. Educational links are also in place for students to access higher education courses at a number of UK universities including Manchester Metropolitan, Worcester and Oxford Brookes.
- Players will be given the opportunity of employment once qualified working for Oxford United Football in the Community scheme during holiday times.
- Players will be given the opportunity to progress through to the Oxford United Youth Team and be offered a full time Scholarship.
